Should You Serve Alcohol At Your Wedding?

1141356_wine_and_dry_rose_1The food at the wedding is, in my opinion, critical. As a wedding guest, I care more about what I am eating than I do about the bride’s dress. Call me greedy, but I like a good meal. And, more importantly, I like it to be washed down with a good drink. The last wedding I went to served punch. That did not jive well with my taste buds. However, it was not my wedding, so I guess I could not really complain. However, when I am planning my wedding I will take into consideration the drink menu – particularly, should wine be served?

If you have the budget for wine, than go for it. However, a lot of people go without alcohol because of the cost. Often, the alcohol will cost as much per person as the food. If you do not want to go without it, but you want to keep within your budget, be creative.

Ask the venue if you can bring your own wine. You could also serve cheaper alcohol. And, if you are buying alcohol mainly for your friends to abuse you for a free night of drinking, consider going without it. Lastly, if you do have alcohol, respect those who prefer not to drink alcohol.

Don’t Let Bad Food Ruin Your Special Day

1022372_wedding_cake_5If you are in the middle of planning your wedding, you are probably worried about picking out the right dress. After all, finding the perfect wedding dress is a very big deal. Your wedding is the most important day of your life and it is essential that you look the best you have ever looked. However, remember that all brides look beautiful on their wedding day.

You will undoubtedly find the dress for you. Remember that you will have a lot of guests to entertain on your big day. Picking the right food can make or break the reception. Although you may not eat, everyone else will. So, make sure you choose the right food. Here are some things that can help you.

• Consider using a caterer. Look into caterers that specialize in weddings.
• You can locate a caterer online or by asking around. Get referrals from friends, family and neighbors. Also, ask your favorite restaurant for recommendations.
• Make sure to interview potential caterers and select the one that fits best.
• Determine the food that is best for your wedding.
• Decide whether you want hor dourves, a buffet, or a sit down dinner.
• Get your cake catered as well.

How To Choose The Right Caterer

It is normal for anyone who is getting married to get nervous. Marriage is a big commitment. However, instead of reaching for your Nikes, try to learn to cope with your cold feet. Here are some great suggestions to help you relax.

• Make a list of everything that is positive about your potential spouse. Then list all the negatives. This should give you some perspective.
• Pretend like you are not getting married. Go out with your friends for a change.
• Talk it out – even if you talk to your friend.
• Get Professional help.
• Take a trip, even if you just visit your friend for the weekend.
• Keep things simple. Sometimes wedding plans can be overwhelming.
• Go to yoga to de-stress.
• Meditate.
• Spend time with your friends that are married.
• Go to a spa or just take some time for yourself.

Don’t let the stress of the big day ruin the happiness that awaits you in the future. Enjoy the process of planning and have fun with your future spouse.
