Another thing is to attend as many of my friends' and family members' weddings as possible in the space of a few months in between our dates (I'll try tasting as many dishes, watching out for quality of service etc). Once I sample and am pleased, I might be in a better position to substitute or merge a provider with the one I had in mind already.
