The Cake! Finding The Right Baker
One of the most traditional parts of the wedding is when the bride and groom cut the cake together. It is a great moment for picture taking, messing up the bride’s makeup and the groom’s hair, and just basically sharing a good laugh. However, most of us are not skilled at buying elaborate cakes. Chances are, you might not know the first thing about purchasing a cake. Do not worry. Finding the perfect cake for your big day is all about asking the right questions. Here are a few good questions to help you get started.
• Can we see your portfolio?
• Are we allowed to test the different cakes?
• Do you have references?
• Can you create a custom cake?
• What does your price include?
• Do you use your own fresh flowers? Or, do you work with the wedding florist?
• What ingredients do you use?
• What kind of icing do you use?
• When will the cake be prepared? (The day of the wedding or beforehand?)
• Can you give us a proposal?
• How much do you charge for delivery?
Asking the right questions will help you know whether or not you have found the right baker for your wedding cake.
