Makeup For Your Big Day

Do you wear makeup? If not, consider wearing makeup on your wedding day, especially for your photographs. Wearing a light colored gown may make you appear pale. A bit of color will give you the radiant look you want on your special day. A bride certainly wants to look her best. Remember a natural application is the best. You do not want to overdo your makeup. A foundation, if chosen, should be very close to your natural skin color. Your mascara should be black and new. This will assure you of a perfect application, with no clumps and you will not run out.

Using lipstick or a colored lip gloss will brighten up your face. Applying a lip liner will make your lipstick last throughout the day. Make sure the liner you choose is very close to the lipstick color you choose. Another secret is to apply lip liner, then apply a little face powder to your lips, and then your lipstick. The face powder makes the lipstick adhere for a longer period of time. Of course, for more money you can buy a long-lasting lip color. Waterproof mascara is must for obvious reasons. If your wedding is in the morning, then a natural look with soft colors is best.

You don’t want everyone to see only makeup and lipstick, and miss the beauty of you and your gown. A professional in a spa or beauty shop will apply your makeup, and do hairstyles for you and your wedding party. Make sure you make an appointment many months in advance to be sure you get the slotted time. Then you could also make an appointment a few weeks in advance to do a practice session. This allows the beautician time to get to know your hair type, as well as the style that may look best on you.

Hiring a professional stylist may not be in your budget. Do you perhaps have a friend that has gone to Cosmetology School, or is known to do well at applying makeup or hairstyling? If this is the case, offer a gift to them in exchange for their time and energy. Your friends and family also want you to look your best, and will be willing to help in any way possible. Don’t forget to express your gratitude in some way. It’s a lot of pressure to make sure this all gets done in a pleasing way, and all in time for the wedding!
