How To Pick That Perfect Gown
In Sophie Kinsella’s popular novel, “Shopaholic Ties the Knot”, Becky Bloomwood, the main character embarks on her first wedding dress shopping experience. As she walks into the shop, the saleslady welcomes her and sales that at their shop, “You do not choose your dress.” Her friend Suze interjects and finishes the sentence saying that the dress chooses you. The saleslady gets extremely flustered and says that is not right. Actually, “You meet your dress.”
So, if you are currently shopping for a wedding dress like Becky was, remember that you are looking to “meet your dress” – much like you met your future spouse. And, picking the perfect dress is going to require you to have a list of qualifications that your dress should meet, just like your future husband had to meet a list.
So what should be on this list of qualifications? The essentials of your perfect dress are not always mutually exclusive with your qualifications. However, if you have a list, you will be able to come close to finding a great dress for your perfect day. Keep in mind how much you want to spend. Also, what are you going to wear with the dress? Then, look for a style you like and go from there. Good luck!
