The Right Colors For Your Wedding

1077717_wedding_roses_3With so many colors out there today, how do you decide which ones to use in your wedding color scheme? For some, this is an easier decision than others. The people who can easily determine their color scheme might be more artistically skilled. However, if you were not blessed with artistic vision that does not mean that your wedding will not look beautiful. There are some simple things you can do to make sure that your wedding flows visually and at the same time is reflective of your style.

If you are not sure about colors, a good place to start might be with flowers. Look for flowers that you like that are in season and see what colors they come in. Also, you can also think about choosing colors that you personally like the wear or that you use to decorate your home with. Another option is to pick colors based off the current season.

Most weddings tend to have one dominant color and two accent colors. However, there are some people who prefer to use a monochromatic color scheme. When this is done, everything is in the same color, just different shades. Once you have selected the right color, you can decide how to accent with it. Have fun with it and express yourself.

The Cake! Finding The Right Baker

1077757_cupcakes_1One of the most traditional parts of the wedding is when the bride and groom cut the cake together. It is a great moment for picture taking, messing up the bride’s makeup and the groom’s hair, and just basically sharing a good laugh. However, most of us are not skilled at buying elaborate cakes. Chances are, you might not know the first thing about purchasing a cake. Do not worry. Finding the perfect cake for your big day is all about asking the right questions. Here are a few good questions to help you get started.

• Can we see your portfolio?
• Are we allowed to test the different cakes?
• Do you have references?
• Can you create a custom cake?
• What does your price include?
• Do you use your own fresh flowers? Or, do you work with the wedding florist?
• What ingredients do you use?
• What kind of icing do you use?
• When will the cake be prepared? (The day of the wedding or beforehand?)
• Can you give us a proposal?
• How much do you charge for delivery?

Asking the right questions will help you know whether or not you have found the right baker for your wedding cake.

Finding The Right Wedding Stationery

1167644_old_letter_setsYou are getting married! It looks like congratulations are in order. And, you will probably soon be getting a lot of gifts to help you celebrate this milestone in your life. However, if no one knows about your big day, how will they come to your wedding and/or know to get you a present. For this reason one of the biggest expenses most people incur for their wedding is the wedding invitation.

Wedding invitations are an ordeal. It is not something you will choose in 2 minutes. You need to pick the right stationary, text, and wording. Also, you need to decide whether you are going to have them professionally printed or print them on your own.

As with anything, the more fancy you want your invitation to be, the more expensive it will be. Today, however, a lot of people are making their own wedding invitations from various wedding stationary. It is a great way to save money, however it does require that you invest some time. Also, you do always have the alternative of sending out an e-vite if you are really short on cash. Whatever you decide, make sure people know that your wedding is coming up. They will need advance notice so they can plan on attending.
