Proposal Venues, Ideas

Getting down on one knee and popping the eternal question, “Will you marry me?” is a given in marriage proposals. However, you can add a distinct twist to the occasion by doing something unexpected or undeniably exciting for your marriage proposal. Choose you venue well, do the asking right, and you and your wife can look back on it with the fond smile for reminiscing on your wedding.

Places Steeped in Romance

When you think of places in the context of romance, Paris should immediately come to mind. Undeniably, Paris is a city that breathes and lives romance. Go up the Eiffel Tower with her, get down on one knee and ask the question. You can go to the Louvre Museum if she is an art enthusiast and propose there. You may also take her to the churches of Notre Dame or Sacre Coeur for your proposal.

If you have no time, money or inclination to go to Paris, you can find something just as romantic somewhere else. The beach is a favorite marriage proposal venue. What you can do is fly down to the Caribbean or drive down to Panama City Beach in Florida. At dusk, stroll with her along the beach and propose marriage with the fabulous sunset as your backdrop.

If she is not into water sports or beach bumming, you can plan a hiking and camping trip to the Tetons or Big Bear Mountains. Stake out a good proposal venue, preferably a clearing on top of the mountain with a lake on one side and flowering shrubs on the other. Get her to that clearing for a picnic, do not forget to bring champagne and the ring, get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.

Places Filled with Wonderful Memories

Instead of adding another to your list of memorable places, why not reuse one? If you still remember where you first met (and you should really remember), go back there and ask her the question. If you met in the subway, swallow your pride and ask her right there in front of the hundreds of spectators. Of course, you should put out feelers before you propose. You don’t want to be rejected in front of your audience, do you?

The abovementioned ideas can make your proposal truly special, but the venue and the way you propose are just icing on the cake. When you finally propose, the most important thing is that you mean it.
